Quick Update

We've traveled through Turkey in the past 2 weeks and learned lots of new things. Turkish drink tea more than coffee, they have 29 letters to their alphabet and I've learned how to type on a Turkish computer. We've had to pay to use toilets wherever we go and learned about how fickle their plumbing is. The food has been great, a little too good... I swam in the Mediterranean Sea a few days ago and tonight we watched the sun set on the Aegean. Tomorrow we'll be taking a ferry to Samos, a Greek Island just off the west coast of Turkey. We'll fly to Athens in time to celebrate Orthodox Easter. We've met some great people and hiked through the mountains of Cappadocia. I miss my kids and can't help but think coming was a crazy idea. I've enjoyed spending time with my husband and we've seen some beautiful country. We slept 2 nights in a house that is famous in Turkey because it is the setting of a Turkish soap opera. As we were leaving tour buses arrived with turks who have come to see the famous house. We slept in an old monastery another night. Today we visited the ancient city of Ephesus while half a dozen storks flew over head. Ephesus has the most expensive pay toilets we've encountered thus far, 3/4 of a Turkish lıra. Maybe one of these days I'll get inspired and really be able to write something worth reading. It's very hard to find a computer to use. There is always a long line of people who want to use it. Tonight it cost 2 Euros per hour. Missing all of you, Hallie, Jake, Isaac, Hannah, Luke, Caleb, Josiah, Micah, Emma, & Lisa.
